Team Reebok Classics have repeated as champions of the CrossFit Team Series.
Well—sort of. In 2014, Team Reebok East (Ben Smith, Scott Panchik, Emily Bridgers, Stacie Tovar) won the competition, but with Panchik recovering from foot surgery after the 2015 Games, Paul Tremblay was brought in to plug the gap as the group reformed as Team Reebok Classics.
Clearly, the squad didn’t miss a beat.
After finishing week 1 of the 2015 series in first position by virtue of two event wins, Reebok Classics posted four top-5 finishes in week 2 to remain in 1st overall and win the competition by seven points over Rogue Red in 2nd.
Though Reebok Classics didn’t post any event wins in week 2, they had consistent finishes of 3rd, 4th, 3rd and 5th that allowed them to remain in 1st. In event 7, the team lifted a total of 1140lbs, including a 7-rep front squat of 370lbs from Paul Tremblay.
Rogue Red (Dan Bailey, Graham Holmberg, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Annie Thorisdottir) were the closest challengers in 2nd overall, posting finishes of 4th, 6th, 4th and 3rd respectively. Rounding out the top 3 was Built By Bergeron (Michele Letendre, Katrin Davidsdottir, Cole Sager, Mathew Fraser) who finished with 39 points—including a blistering time of 10:01 on the ‘benchmarks’ of event 5.
The Masters division was dominated by Masters of LA (Tina Angelotti, Ron Mathews, Thomas Hyland, Trixie Arya) which didn’t have an event finish lower than 3rd throughout the entire competition as they finished with 12 points total, 30 points ahead of Rx Smart Years in 2nd. The Teen title went to the Dream Team (Angelo Dicicco, Nicholas Paladino, Allison Weiss, Ashleigh Wosny, which won every single event in the competition, finishing 1st with just 8 points.
