Bryan Johnson, the tech entrepreneur famous for his extreme anti-aging protocol, just revealed the everyday products that have actually stood the test of time in his quest for longevity.
After experimenting with seemingly everything available for health optimization, most interventions didn’t last more than a few weeks.
But some stuck around—and for good reason.
In a recent video, Johnson walked through his daily essentials, explaining exactly why each item earned a permanent spot in his routine.

Food-Grade Stainless Steel: The Robot’s Choice
Johnson starts with something surprisingly simple: food-grade stainless steel containers.
Because I am a robot, I really like eating out of food-grade stainless steel.
He uses these containers as both storage and a meal-planning mechanism. His chef prepares three to four days of meals at once, stores them in these canisters, and Johnson simply grabs them from the fridge.
The benefits? They’re plastic-free, sturdy, airtight, easy to clean, and don’t corrode. For someone obsessed with eliminating toxins, it’s a no-brainer.
Air Quality Monitoring: The Invisible Health Factor
Johnson didn’t always prioritize air quality—until he started measuring it.
He uses an IQ Air device that provides real-time readings of indoor air quality, flashing through various toxin levels and comparing indoor conditions to outdoor air in his area.
At the end of each month, he receives a comprehensive report. Living in Los Angeles—notorious for poor air quality—Johnson learned that maintaining pristine indoor air requires careful management of doors and windows.
I know living in LA, which does not have great air quality, that maintaining pristine air quality in the house requires the proper closing of doors and windows if they’re open.
His advice? You don’t necessarily need IQ Air—just make sure whatever device you choose is certified and quantified.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: The Superfood Among Superfoods
Of all the products Johnson mentioned, extra virgin olive oil holds the most special place in his protocol.
When we combed through all the scientific evidence and we said what are the very best foods for health and longevity, extra virgin olive oil came out at the very top—a superfood among superfoods.
Johnson consumes more olive oil than any other food in his diet—one tablespoon (15ml) with every meal.
The catch? Not all olive oil is created equal. Johnson emphasizes the importance of characterized and lab-tested extra virgin olive oil to ensure quality and purity.
Nervous System Regulation: From Fight-or-Flight to Chill
Johnson uses two specific devices to stimulate his vagus nerve and shift into parasympathetic mode more frequently.
Neuromod Device
He attaches this device to his left ear’s tragus, where it delivers light electrical pulses to stimulate the vagus nerve during 60-minute sessions.
Sensate
This teardrop-shaped device sits on the chest, right where the vagus nerve passes through. It uses vibrational sequences synced to music to promote relaxation.
I often times will do this if I wake up at night and I can’t go back to sleep. I take a pillow, wrap the pillow around and hold this close to my chest.
Johnson’s recommendation? Experiment with HRV (heart rate variability) tracking to find what works for you.
Wearables: Track Everything, Improve Everything
Johnson uses multiple wearables—Whoop, Oura Ring, and Apple Watch—but insists the specific brand doesn’t matter much.
Blueprint has become best in world at measure, measure, measure. Often times people do things but they don’t track it to see if it’s really working or not.
Wearables helped Johnson achieve what he calls “the best sleep score in human history”—8 months of perfect sleep. The data helped him create intuitions about cause and effect in his physiology.
Temperature Tracking: The Cooling Phenomenon
Johnson measures his body temperature daily using an ear thermometer.
The results have been remarkable: over the past couple of years, his body temperature has dropped from 98.7°F to 93.9°F.
My metabolic systems have just become much more efficient. It has been really cool as I’ve measured my temperature every day to see how my body has gradually become cooler over time.
Body Composition Tracking: The Long Game
Johnson uses a Withings scale several times weekly to track weight, muscle mass, body fat, and bone density.
The specific brand isn’t crucial—what matters is consistent, long-term tracking. These measurements create a historical record that reveals patterns you might otherwise miss.
Adjustable Dumbbells: Smart Solutions for Small Spaces
For Johnson, adjustable dumbbells represent more than just equipment—they’re about smart solutions for maintaining health regardless of circumstances.
Even with a fully equipped gym, Johnson says these dumbbells are the most-used equipment he owns, incorporating them into roughly 10 different exercises.
Hair Health Protocol: Red Light and Massage
After struggling with hair loss since his late 20s, Johnson developed a daily six-minute routine:
- Apply Blueprint hair growth serum
- Massage scalp with a scalp scrubber (used three times daily)
- Wear red light therapy cap for 6 minutes
The scalp scrubber stimulates blood flow—something Johnson hadn’t prioritized before but now finds both enjoyable and evidence-backed.
Temperature-Controlled Sleep: The Eight Sleep Pod
Johnson calls sleep “the number one performance-enhancing drug of your entire life.”
I didn’t realize that a bed that changes temperature would actually help you sleep better.
He uses Eight Sleep and has for several years. The proof? When traveling without temperature control, his sleep quality inevitably declines.
Organization Matters: The Pill Tin Problem
Johnson uses food-grade stainless steel pill tins to organize his supplements—now down to around 35 pills from a peak of 100.
Unfortunately, the company discontinued his preferred tins, and he hasn’t found a suitable replacement. They’re ideal for travel and rotation, keeping supplements organized without material concerns.
The Measurement Mindset
Throughout Johnson’s product recommendations runs one consistent theme: measurement creates awareness, and awareness drives optimization.
Whether tracking air quality, body temperature, sleep scores, or body composition, the data reveals patterns invisible to intuition alone.
Johnson’s approach isn’t about blindly adopting every health trend. It’s about testing interventions systematically, measuring results objectively, and keeping only what demonstrably works.
His final question to viewers captures this experimental spirit perfectly: What am I missing? What have you found that works better?
Because optimization isn’t a destination—it’s an ongoing conversation with your body, informed by data and refined through experimentation.
