CrossFit 7x champion Tia-Clair Toomey tackled Open Workout 25.1 in a recent video, but her performance left fans with more questions than answers

She gave her husband, Shane Orr, a three-minute head start, completed only 12 minutes of the 15-minute workout, and appeared to use a 50lb dumbbell instead of the standard 35lb weight for women.

Despite the unconventional approach, Toomey submitted her official 25.1 score—a respectable 229 reps, but far from what fans would expect from the fittest woman on earth.

Fans React: “Make It Make Sense”

Viewers were quick to notice the irregularities and flooded the comments with questions and speculation:

  • @HillerFit pointed out the dumbbell size, asking, “Is that a 50lb dumbbell?”
  • @DenseUpdates wrote, “She also didn’t start the workout until the 3 min mark and stopped at 15 mins. I am so confused lol.”
  • @12doses summed up what many were thinking: “Yeah, I have a question… WTF?”

Others speculated it might be part of a bet between Tia and Shane, while some questioned whether this meant she was shifting focus away from CrossFit Games competition.

Tia Responds

Toomey addressed the confusion by pinning a comment under the video:
“FULL VLOG COMING TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS!”

With a lower-than-expected score and an unusual approach to the workout, fans are eager to hear Tia’s explanation.

Until then, your guess is as good as mine…
