Sam Sulek, a well-known fitness YouTuber, has officially made the leap to professional bodybuilding. On February 27, 2025, the 23-year-old secured his IFBB Pro Card by winning the Classic Physique Division at the Arnold Classic Amateur in Columbus, Ohio.
This victory marks a rapid rise in Sulek’s bodybuilding journey, as it was only his second-ever competition. He qualified for the Arnold Classic Amateur after a dominant debut at the NPC Legends Classic in Las Vegas on February 15, 2025—just 12 days earlier.
Sulek, who has amassed over 6.5 million Instagram followers and 4 million YouTube subscribers, celebrated his win by lifting his trophy on stage. His victory was met with overwhelming support from fans, with an Instagram post from Arnold Sports showing him holding his Pro Card racking up more than 380,000 likes.
From Influencer to IFBB Pro
Sulek’s journey to the professional stage has been anything but conventional. Unlike many pro bodybuilders who gain recognition through competition success, Sulek built a massive following by sharing his training routines, nutrition insights, and fitness philosophy through daily YouTube vlogs.
His success has silenced critics who once dismissed him as just a social media personality. “This dude did everything he said he was gonna do, exactly how he said he’d do it, and documented it every single day for years,” wrote one fan on Instagram.
With Chris Bumstead’s apparent retirement, Sulek’s entry into the Classic Physique division adds a fresh new contender to the sport.
Experts Weigh in on Sulek’s Physique
Sulek’s performance at the Arnold Classic Amateur was closely watched by some of the biggest names in bodybuilding. Four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler and 25-time Olympia-winning coach Hany Rambod both assessed his physique leading up to the event.
Rambod, who is known for training elite-level competitors, gave Sulek a 9.5 out of 10, praising his overall shape and muscle density. However, he noted that Sulek could improve his triceps, quadriceps, and stage conditioning, particularly in achieving more defined glutes and sharper muscle striations.
What’s Next for Sulek?
Now that he holds his IFBB Pro Card, Sulek has the freedom to enter any IFBB Pro League competition. While he has yet to announce his next move, speculation is already growing about whether he will compete for a spot at the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
Given how quickly he transitioned from amateur to pro, many believe he has the potential to become one of the next major names in Classic Physique. His fans are eagerly waiting for him to reveal his next steps, and if his track record is any indication, he’s likely to make an impact—both on the stage and online.
