It’s 7:35 a.m. inside Austin’s Fairmont Hotel when elevator doors open and a fit, tanned man sporting a red-light therapy cap and yellow-tinted glasses steps into a packed, half-asleep car.
“Are we ready for today?” he asks bleary-eyed passengers, a steaming cup of mold-free, mineral-infused Danger Coffee in hand.
“This is our f–king Olympics.”
Welcome to Dave Asprey’s 2026 BEYOND Biohacking conference — where science fiction meets wellness revolution, and thousands gather to chase immortality one Tesla coil at a time.

From Fringe Movement to Mainstream Phenomenon
Once relegated to Silicon Valley’s outer edges, biohacking has exploded into mainstream consciousness.
MAHA ideology, medical establishment frustration, and widespread malaise have propelled the movement forward. More than 5,000 attendees descended on Austin last week, each paying between $2,000 and over $5,000 for access to cutting-edge longevity technologies.
If you want something simple that actually works, this is one of the most effective tools I’ve used to build strength, conditioning, and endurance without needing a full gym setup.
- Full-body training with one weight using swings, squats, and presses
- Solid cast iron build that feels stable and lasts for years
- Comfortable grip that makes high-rep workouts easier to handle
Asprey himself embodies biohacking’s promise. Once a 300-pound techie battling chronic fatigue, brain fog, gut issues, arthritis and pre-diabetes, the 52-year-old now claims he’s in peak condition.
His goal? Living to 180.
Biohacking by design is a Trojan horse to get society to embrace longevity and consciousness work. It means the art and science of changing the environment around you and inside of you so you have control over biology and your state.
Inside the Expo Floor: Where Technology Meets Biology
More than 150 exhibitors transformed Austin’s Fairmont into a laboratory of human optimization. Much revolved around light, sound and vibration — modalities pitched as everything from recovery boosters to chronic illness relievers.
The $160,000 Human Upgrade
The Ammortal Chamber dominated floor traffic, its demos nearly sold out before doors opened.
This six-figure “human optimization device” combines 10 non-invasive technologies into one 30-minute session: red and near-infrared light, vibroacoustic sound therapy, molecular hydrogen, guided meditation and breathwork.
After testing it earlier this year, one reporter’s migraine vanished. She felt relaxed yet energized, with unexpected mental clarity lingering hours later.

Tesla Coils and Sound Bowls
Crowds gathered around the Biocharger, housing a Tesla coil inside glowing glass tubes.
It emits low-current, high-frequency electrical energy. Fans claim simply sitting nearby boosts cellular health and kick-starts healing processes.
Nearby, attendees stretched across $2,600 lounge chairs embedded with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field technology, sending magnetic waves through bodies to potentially reduce inflammation and improve mobility.
Another major attraction: the world’s largest quartz sound bowl by Cymatica. Participants sat inside while practitioners struck its sides, releasing deep vibrations meant to calm nervous systems and restore balance.
One woman reportedly broke down crying after a session in the Lyfe Vessel, a light-sound-vibration chamber.
She said it “brought her closer to God.”

Cognitive Enhancement: Working Out Your Brain
Physical optimization draws crowds, but cognitive performance and “higher consciousness” proved equally compelling.
When you realize, ‘I’m going to live a long time with enough energy, maybe being angry or sad or reactive all the time isn’t what I want to do,’ you’ll inevitably step onto the consciousness train of progression.
BrainTap: Meditation on Demand
Attendees tested BrainTap, billed as the “ultimate tool for resetting and optimizing your brain.”
Users recline with headsets delivering pulsing light and sound while guided voices lead them through meditation, breathwork and visualization exercises.
Studies suggest it may help with focus, stress, sleep and performance. After a 20-minute session, one tester felt recharged and ready to tackle the remaining conference hours.
Neurofeedback for Neural Pathways
Asprey’s daughter, Anna, demonstrated the Satoria neurofeedback device, marketed as a “personal mental fitness system.”
The headband tracks brainwaves during audio-guided exercises, translating mental activity into audio and visual cues that flag users when minds wander.

By learning to respond to real-time signals, makers claim brains form new, healthier neural pathways — offering meditation benefits without years of practice.
Some products promised experiences beyond the mind itself. The roXiva pairs headphones with strobing light and sound to guide brainwave activity into “expanded and altered states of consciousness.”
Purported benefits include out-of-body experiences, “dimensional and astral travel,” flow states, and even “communion with disembodied or ethereal beings.”
The Personalization Revolution
At its core, biohacking centers on individual optimization.
The movement prioritizes gathering personal data through wearables, genetic tests and bloodwork. Diet, supplements, fitness, recovery and treatments get tailored accordingly.
The worst thing you can do is take everyone and make them the same. There is no ‘average human.’ All of epidemiology is garbage when you use it for an individual. We’re making it about you instead of about everyone.
Custom Supplements and Tailored Training
Trifecta Health debuted a system using genetic testing to identify nutritional gaps, then formulates custom-compounded supplements from scratch.

Viome offered at-home testing of stool, saliva and blood to map gut, oral and cellular health, generating personalized diet and supplement plans.
Fitness tech followed suit. Attendees lined up for AI-powered strength-training machines using personal data like age, fitness level and workout history to build tailored routines.
As users moved, cameras and sensors tracked form in real time, measuring fatigue, range of motion and imbalances. Resistance adjusted on the fly while offering live feedback.
Stem Cells and Lymphatic Flow
Medical treatments leaned even further into personalization, with stem cell therapy taking center stage.
Often described as the body’s natural “repair crew,” treatment involves harvesting patients’ own stem cells or using donor cells, processing them in labs and injecting them into targeted areas.
In the US, it remains tightly restricted, largely limited to serious conditions like certain blood and bone marrow disorders. Abroad, however, wealthy Americans travel to countries like Mexico for experimental treatments targeting injuries, autoimmune conditions, chronic disease and joint pain.

Other testing revealed underlying factors driving health issues. For sluggish lymph flow presenting as weight gain and fatigue, BEYOND invited attendees to try the “Big Squeeze” — officially known as the Ballancer Pro.
This compression therapy system stimulates lymphatic systems, supporting natural fluid balance and promoting metabolic waste removal. Targeting abdomen, hips, thighs and glutes, the device may help reduce water retention, ease muscle soreness, improve circulation and support more toned appearance.
Open Minds, Open Wallets
Amid futuristic tech and sweeping health claims, the conference doubled as high-end marketplace.
Attendees eagerly experimented — and spent. From Danger Coffee’s instant blend to TrueDark’s “Aegis” light-blocking eyewear and Unlimited Life (a VIP longevity program offering access to doctors, testing and one-on-one work with Asprey starting at $10,000 monthly), the biohacking founder remains, at heart, an entrepreneur.
Scientific backing behind offerings ranged from well-studied to speculative, a tension that has long shadowed biohacking and drawn scrutiny over safety and efficacy concerns.
Asprey said his team vets exhibitors but acknowledged not everything is easily proven and he doesn’t personally endorse all products on display.

I cannot prove or disprove that this crystal thing is going to do that, but I also know what a charlatan looks like, and I’ve kicked them out.
Asked about skeptics who don’t believe in biohacking, Asprey didn’t hold back.
The people who say this are the angriest and unhealthiest people, and then usually they get really triggered. I say, hey, if you can be triggered, it means you’re carrying a loaded gun … so maybe you should get a therapist.
