Mitchell Hooper has cemented his legacy as one of the sport’s most dominant athletes, securing his third consecutive Arnold Strongman Classic (ASC) title in Columbus, Ohio. With this victory, Hooper joins Hafthor Björnsson and Zydrunas Savickas as the only strongmen to achieve a three-peat at the prestigious event.
The Canadian strongman, who previously won the 2023 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) title and the 2024 Strongest Man on Earth (SMoE) competition, continues an unprecedented streak of podium finishes at elite-level contests.

A Historic Win and a Personal Milestone
Reflecting on his win, Hooper acknowledged the rapid rise of his career. “Four years ago, no one knew my name. I wasn’t the biggest guy, I wasn’t the strongest guy, but in four years, I’ve turned that into something pretty extraordinary,” he said after his victory.
This year’s Arnold Strongman Classic was particularly special for Hooper, as he was able to share the moment with his wife and baby daughter. His daughter was born just before the 2024 ASC, and at the time, Hooper questioned whether he was making the right sacrifices in his career. “It brought a tear to my eye because I didn’t know if I was doing the right thing,” he shared. “But having them here and hearing your stories makes me think it’s all worth it.”
Hooper’s Performance at the 2025 Arnold Strongman Classic
Hooper’s consistency across multiple events secured him the overall win.
His event results were:
- Elephant Bar Deadlift — 2nd place
- Overhead Gauntlet — 3rd place
- Timber Carry — 1st place
- Big Jerk — 2nd place (Set a new personal best of 242 kg)
- Timber Trial — 3rd place
- Stone-to-Shoulder — 5th place
The Max Jerk event proved to be a highlight for Hooper, as he set a new personal best of 242 kg. However, he made a strategic decision not to push beyond that weight due to the unpredictable nature of the standings. “There were so many guys on certain weights, so I wasn’t able to push up to my actual limit,” he explained.
Heading into the final two events, Hooper held a 2.5-point lead over Lucas Richardson, making it a two-man battle for the title. Despite the pressure, Hooper maintained his composure and executed when it mattered most.
A Streak Unlike Any Other
With this victory, Hooper has now reached the podium in 23 consecutive elite competitions—a streak that includes:
- 15 first-place finishes
- 4 second-place finishes
- 4 third-place finishes
He has already captured every major strongman title, including:
- World’s Strongest Man (WSM)
- Strongest Man on Earth (SMoE)
- Arnold Strongman Classic (3x)

A Strongman Dynasty in the Making?
With three ASC wins in his first three attempts, Hooper now stands in elite company. Only Hafthor Björnsson and Zydrunas Savickas have achieved the same feat, and Savickas remains the all-time ASC leader with eight titles.
As Hooper continues to dominate, the conversation around his greatest-of-all-time (G.O.A.T.) status is becoming harder to ignore. At just 29 years old, he still has many competitive years ahead. If he maintains this level of performance, he could build one of the most dominant dynasties in strongman history.
