Need a Break? Watch Jacob Heppner & His Dog Winston in a Corgi Race

Written by William Imbo

If you follow three-time CrossFit Games individual athlete, Jacob Heppner on YouTube, you’ve probably picked up some great advice relating to the beloved sport. Tips on mobility, nutrition, and training are his specialty, offering advice from one of the biggest names in CrossFit. But, if you’ve had this privilege, you’re probably also aware of his obsession and love for his Corgi, Winston who occasionally makes an appearance on the channel.

Apparently peak fitness and athleticism is something drilled into the Heppner family, including their furriest addition. Heppner recently documented Winston’s participation in the 2019 Kansas City Renaissance Festival Corgi Race (yes, it is actually a thing). The corgi put on an impressive performance, following in his dad’s footsteps. The video highlights some of his ‘training’ to achieve such success in the race, which includes the likes of a weight vest, barbell, and elevation training mask.

If you’re in need of a good laugh and a quick mood booster, take a look at Winston’s performance. You’ve got a front row to his tenacity as Heppner thankfully strapped a goPro to his back.
